| Sample Text | In the following period, others like al-Sudi (died 745) and Suleiman (died 767) came to the fore in this field, while some of their works have been preserved in hadith collections and later versions attributed to them. A complete book of tafseers by Mujahid (died 935) is available, on which a manuscript from the thirteenth century AD is based. However, the oldest work in the field of tafsir that has survived to this day is the one authored by At-Tabari (died 922 AD). Some believe that he was the first to write an interpretation of the Qur'an explaining it together with the Sunnah. Since then, the process of tafsir has continued until today.
