| Sample Text | Most Sharia rules fall into the category of individual obligations. The second category is a collective obligation (fard kifaya), the performance of which is required from the morally responsible in the collective, but not from each individual individually, such as learning various branches of applicable knowledge and useful skills, adan, commanding good and forbidding evil, and other similar issues. Everything that is pure or of prevailing use (masla) is ordered by the lawgiver (shari) to be implemented either as an obligation or a recommendation. Year of publication: 1814/1815. |
