| Sample Text | This is a sample of a work translated from Persian into Ottoman Turkish with certain commentaries concerning the original text. During the period of their rule, Turks paid a lot of attention to works written in other languages of their era, most of all Arabic and Persian, and had them translated to their own tongue with necessary commentaries which should make them easier understanding of the original text. In fact, such tendency was a matter of prestige for educated Muslims. They were supposed to follow cultural trends of their time. Year of publishing: 1633. |
