Praise be to God who spread the knowledge at the hands of those of understanding and who singled out whatever virtues and robes he wished as he wished... As for what follows, then he says... Abu Abdullah... Al-Ansari, famous for Al-Astowani... When I read Sahih Al-Bukhari to the eminent sheikhs, and reviewed his great commentaries, I saw some of them were lengthy and boring, and some of them were short and disgraceful; I wanted to collect the report of my scholars and make it an explanation of the Sahih... If the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, wanted to prostrate, meaning prostration, in his prayer, he winked at my feet... And if he wanted to prostrate, he struck my feet, so this narration made it clear that what is meant by winking is striking with the hand, and it agrees with what the linguists said...
