The first 40 pages are unscheduled, and by another pen mentioning the Companions and Followers... | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Oh God, Abu Bakr, we seek help and in You we put our trust. Glory be to You, O God, with Your praise for Your blessings to all of Your praises... As for what follows, this is a book about the names of men containing two chapters. The first chapter is about mentioning the Companions, male and female, and those after them. ... She said, so Umm Salamah mentioned that to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and she said, “Then turn away from me.” When he returned to me, I mentioned that to him, so turn away from me. When it was the third time, I mentioned it to him, and he said, “O Umm Salamah, do not harm me about Aisha.” The end of the first half of this book was compiled by the sheikhs who took care of this book.
