The first is a colorful, gilded introductory panel decorated with a floral motif. | Date of death of the copyist: 1264 AH | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Book of Sales... Chapter on the Ansar delegations to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in Mecca and the pledge of allegiance to Aqaba... on the authority of Ubadah bin Al-Samit, may God be pleased with him, that he said
I am one of the leaders who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said, “We pledged allegiance to him that we will not associate anything with God, that we will not steal, we will not commit adultery, we will not kill the soul that God has forbidden, except by right, and we will not plunder or disobey in Paradise. If we do that, if we are deceived by any of that, the decision of that is up to God Almighty, and God Almighty knows best.” This second quarter has been completed.

وقَفَ وحبَّسَ وتصدَّقَ وأبَّدَ التَّحْبيسَ المحْترمُ المكرَّمُ عليّ بْن المرْحومِ محمَّدٍ السّراويّ العَدويّ هذا الجزءَ الثّاني وما بعْدَه والَّذي قبلَه الأوَّل مِن صَحيحِ البُخاريّ، عَلى مَن ينتفِعُ بِه من سائِرَ وُجوهِ الانتِفاعِ مُطالعةً وقِراءةً وتدريسًا، وجعَلَ مقرَّه تحتَ يدِ العُمدةِ الفاضلِ الشَّيخِ مَنصور كسّاب العدويّ بِرواقِ السّادةِ الصّعايدة بالأزْهرِ، وقْفًا صَحيحًا شَرعيًّا لا يُباعُ ولا يوهَب ولا يُرْهَن قاصِدًا بذلِك وجْهَ اللهِ تَعالى والفَوزَ لدَيْهِ بِالسَّعادةِ الأَبديَّةِ {فمن بدله بعدما سمعه فإنما إثمه على الذين يبدلونه إن الله سميع عليم} تحْريرًا في 8 شهْر جُمادى الآخرة سنة 1266. الفَقير عليّ محمَّد السّراويّ العدويّ
