Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

(Chapter on the crescent moon at the Dhu al-Hulayfa Mosque) Ali bin Abdullah told us, Sufyan told us, Musa bin Uqba told us, he said, I heard Salem bin Abdullah, he said, I heard Abdullah bin Omar. Abdullah bin Maslamah told us, on the authority of Malik, on the authority of Musa bin Uqba, on the authority of Salim bin Abdullah, that he heard his father say: The family of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was only near the mosque, meaning the mosque of Dhu al-Hulayfa... (Chapter) Muhammad told us... Abdullah told us, Yahya bin Saeed told us, Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Hanzalah bin Qais al-Ansari, he heard Rafi’ bin Khadij say: We were the most cultivated people of Medina. That is afflicted and the earth is safe, and from what afflicts the earth and that is safe, we have forbidden. As for gold and paper, they were not there at that time. The end of the third part of Sahih Al-Bukhari... divided into ten parts, followed at the beginning of the fourth part by the chapter on sharecropping in half and the like... Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
