It lacks the first and the last in terms of its appearance, as it began and ended truncated, but it complements the previous part and continues it in the subsequent part. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Nothing remained for me until they hastened and the invasion had dissipated, and I was about to travel and catch up with them. I wish I had done so, but it was not possible for me to do that, so when I went out among the people after the departure of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him...
