Notes
The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter: How was the beginning of the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Almighty said, “Indeed, we revealed to you as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him.” ...Chapter: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, hated for Medina to be invaded... Hisham said, on the authority of Zaid, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Hafsa, I heard Omar, may God be pleased with him. The first quarter has been completed...and it will be followed in the second fourth by the Book of Fasting and the obligation of Ramadan fasting.

«قدْ وقَفَ هذه النُّسخةَ الجليلةَ سلطانُنا الأعظمُ، والخاقانُ المعظَّمُ، مالكُ البريْنِ والبحريْنِ، خادمُ الحرميْنِ الشريفيْنِ، السلطانُ بنُ السلطانِ، السلطانُ الغازي محمودٌ خان وقفًا صحيحًا شرعيًّا، لمن طالَعَ وتلى أكرمه اللهُ تعالى بالزُّلفِ والحُسنى، حرَّرَه الفقيرُ أحمدُ شيخ زادة المفتِّشُ بأوقافِ الحرميْنِ الشريفيْنِ غُفِرَ لهمُا». ثمَّ خاتمُ وقفٍ نُقِشَ بداخلِه ما نصُّه: «{الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلَا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ} وقفُ محمودٍ خان بن مصطفى خان»
