The first version is truncated from the last hadith in the chapter on timing in ablution and washing and after it begins in the chapter on seeking ablution when the time for prayer comes. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
