He said to a group of eight people who came to Medina and said, “O Messenger of God, keep us as messengers.” This hadith was narrated in a different way, including that people came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and spoke about Islam, and said, “We were people of the region, but we were not people of the countryside... ... Q Ibn Umar Labayk, O God, at Your command, you have no partner. Labayk, indeed, praise and blessings are Yours and dominion... Labayk” begins with a verse, with the meaning of “Labayk” being that praise and blessings are for You, so what you have enabled me to do is to recite this talbiyah and perform the right of this obedience, and some of them said that it is obligatory and must be abandoned, and he said: Glory is nothing on the one who abandons it, and in the meaning of Al-Shafi’i, may God Almighty have mercy on him... The Talbiyah, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we ask God Almighty for His satisfaction and Paradise and seeking refuge in His mercy from Hell.
