Title translated from the indexer. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

In the name of God... Chapter: How was the beginning of the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the saying of God Almighty, “Indeed, we have revealed to you just as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him.” Al-Humaidi told us on the authority of Sufyan, he said, Yahya bin Saeed Al-Ansari told us, he said Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Taymi told me, that he heard Alqamah bin Waqqas Al-Laythi saying, “I heard Omar bin Al-Khattab... saying, ‘Actions are but by intentions, and every person will have but what he intended, so whoever emigrates to this world will attain it. Or to a woman he would marry, so his emigration was for what he emigrated to... Chapter on God’s saying (And We set the scales fairly on the Day of Resurrection)... Ahmad ibn Ishkab told us, he said Muhammad ibn Fudail told us, on the authority of Amara ibn al-Qaqa’, on the authority of Abu Zur’ah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Two words beloved to the Most Merciful, light on the tongue, heavy on the scale: Glory be to God and praise be to Him, Glory be to Him.
