It contains corrections, comments, and transcription differences in the margin. | Date of death of the copyist: alive in the year 823 AH. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

In the name of God... Chapter on sharing food, drinks, and offerings... Abdullah bin Yusuf told us... He said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent a delegation... So he commanded Abu Ubaidah over them... So Abu Ubaidah ordered the provisions of that army... ... Chapter on what is acquired from food in the land of war: ... The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade it because it did not contain a fifth. Others said: He forbade it completely. He completed the fourth part of the authentic collection... It is followed in the fifth part by the chapter on tribute and farewell to the people of war.
