Notes	Affected by extreme humidity; I wrote the chapter titles and the words “He told us” and “He said” in red. \| The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
Sample Text	In the name of God.. Chapter on stoning in the prayer place: Mahmoud and Abd al-Razzaq told us. Muammar told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Abu Salamah... on the authority of Jabir, that a man... came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he confessed to adultery, but the Prophet turned away from him... He said: You used so-and-so and you did not use me. He said: You will see a trace after me, so be patient until you meet me. Last part twenty-eight.
