At the beginning of the copy he wrote verses that read: And if you want the pillars of the Sharia, listen... to learn them and memorize or write, Muhammad and Al-Numan Malik Ahmad... and Sufyan and remember after David... the lineage of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace... the lineage of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, his nickname, his birth, the date of his mission, the length of his stay in Mecca and Medina, and his age. It has a few corrections in the margin. It has an unclear stamp on it. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
