Notes
The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter: How was the beginning of the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the saying of God Almighty: “Indeed, We have revealed to you just as” ... Chapter on Salman Al-Farsi’s conversion to Islam, may God be pleased with him... The first part of Sahih Al-Bukhari was completed... It will be followed, God Almighty willing, by the book Al-Maghazi.

وقَفَ وحبَسَ وتصَدَّقَ بهذا الكتابِ الفقيرُ إلى اللهِ: عثمانُ بنُ الحاجِّ عليٍّ على طلبةِ العلمِ بالجامعِ الأزهرِ، وجعَلَ مقرَّهُ رواقَ الشوامِ وقفًا صحيحًا لَا يُباعُ ولَا يُوهَبُ ولَا يُزادُ في التغييرة على أربعِ كراريسَ، {فَمَنْ بَدَّلَهُ بَعْدَ مَا سَمِعَهُ فَإِنَّمَا إِثْمُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ}
