The beginning of the manuscript:
Our master... Abd al-Rahman... Al-Suyuti says... Praise be to God, who has bestowed His blessings upon us, and beautified us by making us bearers of the Sunnah... This is a commentary on Sahih... Abu Abdullah Al-Bukhari is called: Al-Tawshih. Al-Zarkashi's commentary, called the revision, is being conducted. It exceeds it with the benefits it contains in additions, which include what the reader and listener need, such as controlling its words, explaining its strange words, clarifying the differences in its narrators, an addition to a report that was not mentioned in its path, a translation whose wording was a raised hadith, a link to a comment that did not occur in the Sahih and its connection, an ambiguous name, a problematic parsing, and a combination of different things, such that he did not miss any explanation except deduction. I have decided to put on each of the six books a book on this. The pattern, in order to achieve benefit without effort, and to attain God without a sacrifice. God Almighty achieved this through His benevolence and generosity. A chapter on explaining Al-Bukhari’s condition and its subject... ... The conclusion of the manuscript: ... Chapter on the Almighty’s saying: {And We establish the scales} ... Al-Nasa’i narrated on the authority of Aisha: Whenever the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - sat in a gathering or prayed or spoke words, I asked him about that and he said: “If he spoke a good word it would be sealed for him until the Day of Resurrection, and if he spoke otherwise it would be an expiation for him: Glory be to You, O God, and with Your praise, there is no god but You, I seek Your forgiveness. And I repent to you.”
