The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

O Umm Salamah, do not harm me regarding Aisha, for by God, the revelation was not revealed to me while I was in the quilt of another woman from among you, and half was fulfilled.

واهبًا ثوابَه لنفسِه ولروحِ أخيه وصاحبتِه وأمِّها وبنيه، قدْ وقَفَ وحبَسَ هذا الكتابَ الشَّريفَ الأميرُ الحاجُّ عبدُ الرَّحمنِ أفندي الحافظُ، رضاءً للهِ تعالى، وقفًا صحيحًا شرعيًّا بحيثُ لَا يجوزُ بيعُه ولَا رهنُه ولَا هبتُه، وشرَطَ أن يكونَ موضوعًا في مخزنِ التكيةِ المحمودية وأن يستفيدَ منه كلٌّ منَ العلماءِ والطلبةِ، دراسةً وقراءةً واستنساخًا، وجعَلَ ثوابَه لنفسِه ولروحِ أخيه المرحومِ عليٍّ، وشرَطَ أن لَا يخرجُوه من التكيةِ جملةً، {فَمَنْ بَدَّلَهُ بَعْدَ مَا سَمِعَهُ فَإِنَّمَا إِثْمُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ}.#عليها وقفٌ لله تعالى بالمدرسةِ الحبانيةِ.#عليها بعضُ التَّصحيحاتِ.
