It contains comments, corrections, and transcription differences in the margin. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter on seeking refuge from temptations. ... Chapter on the Almighty’s saying: {God will not call you to account for what is vain in your oaths, but He will call you to account for what you have made with your oaths. Its expiation is feeding ten poor people from the average of what you feed your families, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. And whoever does not find it, then fasting for three days. That is the expiation for your oaths when you swear, and keep your oaths. Thus does God make clear to you His signs that you may be grateful.} The twenty-seventh part of Al-Bukhari’s book was completed in thirty parts, followed by the twenty-eighth part, the beginning of which is the Book of Obligations.
