Part 18 of the book, No. 1927, in the library. | Date of death of the copyist: alive in the year 883 AH. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Ubaid bin Ismail told us, Abu Usama told us, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her: She borrowed a necklace from Asmaa and it perished, so the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent some of his companions to search for it, and she led them to prayer, so they prayed without ablution. When they came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, they complained about that to him, and the verse on tayammum was revealed, and Usayd bin Hudayr said, may God reward you well. By God, no matter has ever befallen you...
