He collected the introduction in the year thirteen and began explaining it in the beginning of the year seventeen, and praise be to God.”

Abu Ali al-Jiyati in Taqid al-Muhammal, via Hammad bin Shakir al-Nasawi, and I think he died around the age of ninety, and he has a chapter on it... A chapter that goes on for a long time in the first rak’ah... Al-Fatihah is not recited while the imam is reciting it, not that he does not recite it at all, and God Almighty knows what is correct and to Him is the reference and the return.
