The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter on supplication in bowing... On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to say in his bowing and prostration: Glory be to You, O God, and with Your praise, O God, forgive me... ... Muadh bin Fadala told us... Jaber bin Abdullah told us that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to pray on his camel towards the east, so if he wanted to perform the obligatory prayer, he descended and faced the Qiblah.
