Notes	The copy has an illegible stamp. \| The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
Sample Text	(Chapter on the angels witnessing Badr) Ishaq bin Ibrahim told us, Jarir told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed, on the authority of Muadh bin Rifa’ah bin Rafi’ al-Zarqi, on the authority of his father, and his father was one of the people of Badr. He said: Gabriel came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: What do you consider the people of Badr to be among you? He said: “One of the best Muslims” or a word similar to it. He said: And so are those of the angels who witnessed Badr. Suleiman bin Harb told us, Hammad told us, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Muadh bin Rifa’ah bin Rafi’, and Rifa’ah was one of the people of Badr, and Rafi’ was one of the people of Aqaba, and he used to say to his son: I am not pleased that I witnessed Badr, in Aqaba. He said: Gabriel asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, about this... ...And Abu Burdah said, on the authority of Abu Musa, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “I know the voices of the Ash’aris reciting the Qur’an when they enter at night, and I know their places. From their voices reciting the Qur’an at night, even though I did not see their places when they descended during the day, and among them was a wise man who, when he met the horses - or he said: the enemy - said to them, “My companions command you to wait for them.” The end of the seventeenth part of the thirty parts, and it follows it... At the beginning of the eighteenth, Ishaq bin Ibrahim told us that he heard Hafs bin Ghiyath, and praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
