The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter on the words of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “The destruction of my nation at the hands of foolish servants.” Musa bin Ismail told us.. Amr ibn Yahya said... I heard the truthful and trustworthy say: “The destruction of my nation at the hands of his servants from Quraysh.” ... Chapter on what the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, mentioned... He said that when a man was sent to her from among the Companions, she said, “No, by God, I will never prefer them to anyone.” The twenty-ninth part was completed with the praise and help of God... It will be followed in the thirtieth chapter by: Ayoub bin Suleiman.
