Interpretation of Surat al-Ghashiya... Abu al-Abbas Muhammad bin Yaqoub told us... on the authority of Jabir, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “I have been commanded to fight the people until they say: There is no god but God.” ...Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, read: “I have no control over them except those who turn away and disbelieve, then God will punish him with the greatest punishment.” This is an authentic hadith according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs, and they did not narrate it with this addition.
