Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds... And then he says... Muhammad bin Ali Al-Shafi’i Al-Shinwani God granted me the ability to read the summary of Al-Bukhari by Imam Abdullah bin Abi Jamrah... along with reading some of the commentators on the book and some of the commentators on Al-Bukhari, and I collected during the reading some words on my copy. Then when it was the year one thousand and ninety-five, he asked me... to read the aforementioned book and collect the writing that I stuck in the margin of my copy, with a review of some of the book’s commentators and a review of Fath al-Bari... so I responded to that... ...he said, “It is lawful for you.” Radwani; That is: He sent it down to you... and the greatest of them is seeing the greatest lover, as is the doctrine of the Sunnis, contrary to those of the heretics who forbid it. O God, seal for us the seal of happiness... and may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.

الحمد لله الّذي وفّق منْ شاء للأعمال الصّالحة، وبعد: فقدْ أوقف الفقير إلى الله تعالى عبد الفتّاح ابن المرحوم الحاجّ محمّد هذا الكتاب ابتغاء مرضاة الله تعالى والثواب وقفا صحيحا لازما شرعيّا، لا يباع ولا يرهن ولا يوهب ولا يملّك لأحد، وشرط النّظر لنفسه مدة حياته، ثمّ منْ بعده يوضع برواق السادة اليمنية بالجامع الأزهر، ويكون النظر لشيخ الرواق المذكور، {فمنْ بدّله بعْد ما سمعه فإنّما إثْمه على الّذين يبدّلونه إنّ اللّه سميع عليم}. حرّره في يوم السبت من ذي الحجة 24 منه في سنة 1297 من الهجرة المباركة.
