The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

(Chapter: How did the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, begin) ... ...Chapter: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, hated for Medina to be exposed... On the authority of Omar, may God be pleased with him, who said, O God, grant me martyrdom in Your path, and make my death in the country of Your Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace... And Hisham said, on the authority of Zaid, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Hafsa, I heard Omar, may God be pleased with him. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions, Amen.
