The opening of the manuscript: We praise You, O You who enlightened our hearts to consider the Sunnah of the Master of the Prophets... As for what follows, then the poor Ibrahim bin Mustafa Al-Hanafi says... This is the explanation of Al-Mashreq by the late Ibn Al-Malik... I arranged it like the arrangement of lamps without changing its phrase except in the case of need, and perhaps I added some of the lamps to it and otherwise... The conclusion of the manuscript: ... The parable of my nation is like rain, one does not know whether it will start or end will be good, as mentioned in Anas’s narration in Al-Masabah. Praise be to God, by whose grace and majesty good deeds are accomplished, and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the Master of Beings, and upon all his family and companions... With God’s help and good success, the book Al-Anwar Al-Bawaariq has been completed in the order of Sharh Al-Mashriq by Ibn Al-Malik, may God Almighty enlighten his heart.
