He collected the introduction in the year thirteen and began explaining it in the beginning of the year seventeen, and praise be to God.”

Praise be to God, who has enlightened the hearts of the people of Islam with guidance and poked the hearts of those who are tyrannical, so that wisdom will never fail, and I bear witness that there is no god but God, alone, with no partner. He is the God of none, individual and steadfast... After that, I have begun what I intended from explaining Al-Jami’ Al-Sahih, as I promised in the beginning of the introduction... and I called it Fath Al-Bari, with Al-Bukhari’s explanation... Chapter on a woman asking her husband’s permission to go out to the mosque... The end of the first part of Fath Al-Bari, with Al-Bukhari’s explanation.
