The manuscript's physical condition is very good. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Incomplete, and the first of the existing ones: So Abu Bakr took possession of it and did in it what the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did, and God knows that he is in it a truthful ( ) follower of the truth. Then God passed away Abu Bakr, and I was after Abu Bakr, so I took possession of it for two years of my rule ( ) in it according to what the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did and what Abu Bakr did in it, and God knows that I am in it ( ) righteous, upright, follower of the truth. Then you came to me to speak to me, and I spoke to you... Manaqib Salem, the servant of Abu Hudhayfah. May God be pleased with them both: Suleiman bin Harb told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Amr bin Murra, on the authority of Ibrahim, on the authority of Masruq, he said, Abdullah was mentioned with Abdullah bin Omar, and he said, “That is a man whom I still love after I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: ‘Recite the Qur’an from four of Abdullah bin Masoud.’ So he started with him and Salem, the client of Abu Hudhayfah and my father, or with Muadh bin Jabal. He said, I do not know.
