The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter: He is not one of us who strokes the cheeks. Muhammad bin Bashar told us.. on the authority of Abdullah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: He who strokes the cheeks and rips one’s pockets and supplicates according to the pre-Islamic era is not one of us.. Chapter on washing one’s character three times.. He wanted purity when he ordered him to wash three times. He said yes.. He completed the sixth part.
