The opening of the manuscript: The book of washing, washing with dhamma al-ghīn, which is a name for ablution, which in terminology is the washing of the skin and hair, which is what is meant here, and it is a name for the water with which one is washed, and the plural of ghusl is fatha, which is what the garment is washed with, made of lichen and the like... ... Conclusion of the manuscript: Chapter on pointing in prayer... Abu Hanifa said he cuts it because its ruling is the ruling of speech, and God Almighty knows what is correct.
