Sample Text
Praise be to God, the Majestic King, who sent Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with clear evidence... For when the Companions of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, were singled out for the honor of companionship... it is disgraceful for us to treat them lightly or fall short of what is due to them... This prompted me to compile a brief collection, God willing, that includes the definition of those for whom it is authentic in the two Sahihs, a vision and a narration arranged according to the letters, mentioning in each one of them how much he narrated in general, then what was agreed upon from his chain of transmission, then what Al-Bukhari narrated uniquely from him, if it was, then Muslim as well, then I mention at the end of the letter. What was unique to each one of them, each one of the men, and how many narrated from him, and I mention in each one of them those who participated in the two Sahih books in narrating from him the four books that are chain of narrations..... ...a chapter, and so is Al-Bukhari in the year one hundred and ninety-four.... As for Muslim, he is Ibn Al-Hussein bin Muslim bin Al-Hajjaj bin Muslim Al-Qushayri...and he was buried in Naysapur, may God be pleased with him and have mercy on him, according to the book.
