Notes	There is an internal division “with red ink on the margin” within the part extending from its first parts, and this copy ends at part thirty-six. \| The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH. \| “The chapter on Saeed bin Zaid’s conversion to Islam, to the chapter on burning mats to stop the blood.”
