The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH. | “Chapter: If someone sees that he buys food in bulk, he will not sell it so that he can accommodate it on his journey” - Chapter on Abu Dharr’s conversion to Islam, may God have mercy on him.

Chapter: Whoever sees if he buys food in bulk, then sells it until they take it on his journey, and the etiquette in that. Yahya bin Bukayr Al-Layth told us, on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of Ibn Shihab... that Ibn Omar said, “I saw people during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, buying food in bulk, trying to store it in their place until they took it to their place... ...Chapter on Abu Dhar’s conversion to Islam, may God have mercy on him. Amr bin Abbas told us, Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi said... He said, when Abu Dharr was informed of the mission of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said to his brother, “Ride to this valley and learn for me the knowledge of this man who claims to be a prophet to whom revelation comes from heaven, and listen to what he says, then come to me... He completed the second part... It is followed at the beginning of the third part by the chapter on the Islam of Sa`d bin Zaid...
