At the beginning of the copy, in the margin of the first leaf, he wrote in red what read: “Part fifteen of Sahih al-Bukhari, from the thirty parts.” He also wrote the same phrase, with a change in the number of the part from the fifteenth to the sixteenth, at the beginning of Part 16 on Folio 72/B. #Part 15 ended on Folio 71/A. | Date of the copyist’s death: (He was alive in Jumada al-Awwal in the year 1168 AH) | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
