The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

The Book of Foods and God Almighty’s saying, “Eat of the good things We have provided for you,” and His Almighty’s saying, “Spend of the good things.” ...Chapter on the words of God Almighty: {And We set up just scales for the Day of Resurrection} And that the deeds of the children of Adam and their words... are two beloved words to the Most Merciful, light on the tongue and heavy in the scale. Glory be to God and praise be to Him, Glory be to God the Great.

أوقف وحبس وسبل وأبد هذا لله تعالى سعادة أفنديم حسن باشا حقي، على من يقرأ فيه من المسلمين وقفا صحيحا شرعيا لا يباع ولا يشرى ولا يرهن وجعل النظر فيه من بعده بحضرة حرمه الست حبيبة هانم ومستقره بخزينة الوقف تحت يدها {فمن بدله بعد ما سمعه فإنما إثمه على الذين يبدلونه إن الله سميع عليم}، في شوال سنة 1290.
