These are benefits transferred from the handwriting of our sheikh to the only Imam... Sharaf al-Din Abu Muhammad Abd al-Mu’min al-Dumyati... Muhammad bin Issa bin Sura bin Musa bin al-Dahhak al-Sulami al-Tirmidhi said Abu Issa the Imam heard about the Hijaz, Iraq and Khurasan, and he died in al-Tirmidhi, a city on the Balkh River, which is the Oxus... The death of al-Tirmidhi on the 7th of Rajab in the year one hundred and seventy-nine and the death of Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Nasa’i in the year three hundred and three, may God have mercy on them all.
