It contains comments. | Date of death of the copyist: Alive in the seventh century. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter: Virtues of Abdullah bin Masoud. ...On the authority of Ibn Shihab, and we asked him, and he said, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thawban told me...and it is the end of the sixteenth part of Sahih al-Bukhari...and it will be followed, God willing, on the seventeenth, by the chapter on the angels witnessing Badr. Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
