The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter on Conditions in the Sale: Abdullah bin Maslama told us, Al-Layth told us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Urwa, that Aisha, may God be pleased with her... Chapter on the Prophet’s supplication, may God bless him and grant him peace, to Islam and Prophethood and not to take one another as lords... He protected himself and his wealth from me except by his right and his reckoning is with God. It was narrated by Omar and Ibn Omar on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace... Whoever wants a campaign, immediately do something other than it, and whoever likes to go out on Thursday.
