Praise be to God who sent down the Book to His servant... As for what follows, he says... Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Salmasi... Since the science of hadith was one whose place is not hidden and whose honor is not denied... And the book of Sahih was by Imam... Muhammad bin Ismail Al-Jaafi Al-Bukhari... I was anxious to explain it, sparingly between brevity and redundancy, and moderate between the extremes of economy and elaboration... So I collected from the explanations of the hadith what had been passed down... and picked up from what I criticized the opinions of the investigators. And what I meant is, thank God Almighty, it came in a book beyond what I had hoped for... Al-Bukhari said, In the name of God... ... (Chapter) such and such without translation, and it was omitted from Abu Dharr’s narration, so it is either from the chapter or like the chapter from the chapter, his saying (I set off), meaning when he was with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, intending to migrate to Medina, his saying: (So I ordered him to be arrested), meaning: to be detained. If you say, what is the fabrication between it and the aforementioned hadith that no one evacuates anyone’s cattle, I said: Here, then, it is normal, or his companion was a friend of a friend, or he was a warlike infidel, or their situation was one of necessity, and on the one hand, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, is more deserving of the believers, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family.
