Notes
The deficiency in this manuscript is one hadith from its beginning, and four lines from the chapter on how the revelation began, which is located on the first page of this manuscript, is the second hadith from the aforementioned chapter of the first part. The copyist divided Sahih al-Bukhari into thirty parts, which are present here from the first part to the seventh part, which in this copy ends with the Book of Hajj. Parts I, II, III, IV, V, and VI have their endings indicated in the margin in folios No. 43, 84, 116, 152, 186, and 223, respectively. The chapter titles are in red ink, and there are traces of moisture on the top of the manuscript. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
