Incomplete first; At the top of the first paper was the text: “It has a hole in it from the beginning until its saying, so it took me.” | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

So he took me and pressed me the second time until I was exhausted, then he sent me and said, “Read.” I said, “I am not a reader,” so he took me and pressed me for the third time, then. ...Chapter on the virtue of Aisha, may God be pleased with her... He said, O Umm Salamah, do not harm me regarding Aisha, for by God, the revelation has not descended upon me while I was under the quilt of a woman among you other than her.
