The first and last leaves have torn ends; Needs restoration. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

أوقفَتْ هذا الكتابَ وهوَ «صحيحُ الإمامِ البُخاريِّ» للهِ سبحانه وتعالى على مَنْ ينتفِعُ به منْ طلبةِ العلمِ بالجامعِ الأزهرِ المصونةُ الحاجَّةُ مريمُ بنتُ الحاجِّ عثمانَ وجعلَتْ مقرَّه تحتَ يدِ الحاجِّ يحيى مدَّةَ حياتِه، ثمَّ الأرشدِ فالأرشدِ من ذريَّتِه، ثمَّ يكونُ مآلُه إلى رُوَاق التركِ بالجامعِ الأزهرِ، فلا يُباعُ ولا يوهب ولا يرهن، واللهُ خيرُ الشاهدينَ، تحريرًا في سنةِ 1263هـ
