The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

عَليْها قيدُ وقفٍ هذا نصُّه: «أوقَفَ الفَقيرُ إِلى رحْمةِ ربِّه أَحمد آغا تابِع المرْحومِ عليّ آغا تفكجيان هذا النِّصف الأَخير مِن صَحيحِ البُخاريِّ عَلى طلَبةِ العِلمِ بِالجامِعِ الأَزْهرِ بِرِواقِ الشَّوامّ، وجعَلَ مقرَّه بِخِزانةِ إبْراهيمَ أفَنْدي بْن مُراد الحنَفي لعن الله من غيره».#عليهُ قيدُ سماعٍ هذا نصُّه: «وبعد ثمَّ سمِعَه عَلى الواقفِ الفقيرُ عبدُ الحليمِ الفيّوميّ عُفي عنه».
