Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

قالَ الشَّيخُ الإمامُ الصّالحُ بقيَّةُ المشايخِ، أبو الوقْتِ عبدُ الأوَّلِ بنُ عيسى بنِ شُعيبٍ ...السِّجزيّ الصّوفيّ ثمَّ الهرويّ قدمَ عليْنا، قراءةً عليْه ونحنُ نسْمعُ، أخبَركُم الإمامُ بيان الإسْلامِ أَبو الحسَنِ عبدِ الرَّحمنِ بنِ محمَّدِ بنِ المظفَّرِ بنِ محمَّدِ بنِ داوُد بنِ أَحمدَ بنِ مُعاذِ بنِ سهلِ بنِ الحكمِ الدّاوُديّ، قراءةً عليْه ببوشنج في ذي القعْدةِ مِن سنةِ خمسٍ وستّينَ وأرْبعمائةٍ قالَ: أخبرَنا الإمامُ أَبو محمَّدٍ عبدُ اللهِ بنُ أَحمدَ بنِ حمّويه بْن جمالِ الدّينِ بنِ يوسُف بن أعْين السرَخْسيّ، قراءةً عليْه في صفَر سنةَ إحْدى وثمانينَ وثلاثِمائةٍ، قالَ: أخبَرنا الإمامُ أَبو عبدِ اللهِ محمّدُ بنُ يوسُف بنِ مطَر بنِ صالحِ بنِ بشرِ بنِ إبْراهيمَ الفربْريّ بفربر، سنةَ ستّ عشْرةَ وثلاثمائةٍ، قالَ: حدَّثنا الإمامُ أبو عبْدِ اللهِ محمّدُ بنُ إسْماعيلَ بنِ إبْراهيمَ بنِ المُغيرةِ بنِ الأحنفِ الجعْفيّ موْلاهُمُ البُخاريّ رضي الله عنه قال.
