The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH. | (From the chapter on seeking refuge from temptations to the end of the chapter on Gog and Magog)

Chapter on seeking refuge from temptations. Hafs Ibn Omar told us, he said, Hisham told us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Anas, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to... Al-Masila. He became angry and went up to the pulpit and said, “Do not ask me today about anything... ... the backfill, the backfill of Gog and Magog, like this. And Wahib concluded... With the praise of God, his help, and his good success, followed by the book of rulings in the part that follows it, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions...
