The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

Chapter on the Battle of Sayf al-Bahr: While they were receiving caravans for the Quraysh and their prince, Abu Ubaidah, Ismail told us, he said, Malik told me on the authority of... ...he married her, and if they wanted to, they married her to her, and if they wanted, they did not marry her to her, so they were more deserving of her than her family, so this verse was revealed in that regard, the seventeenth part was completed.
