(I heard Saeed bin Al-Musayyab say: Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan) Sakhr bin Harb Al-Umayyad (made his last introduction to Medina) with a fatha al-qaf and a sukun al-dāl (he presented it) in the year fifty-one (so he addressed us and he brought out a kubba) with a dhammah of the kaf and a tightening of the unified (from the hair) with a fatḥah al-ayn (and he said: I did not see) with a dhammah of the hamza, that is, I think (that anyone does this other than the Jews, that is) and that (the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace) does this. He called it falsehood (which means hair connection) which women do for adornment... The part was fulfilled, thank God

أوقفَ هذا الكتابَ الشَّريفَ للهِ سبحانه وتعالى الحاجُّ: محمَّدُ بنُ أحمدَ كاتب حوالة متفرقة بمصرَ محروسة إسبارتوي مولدًا ثمَّ المصريّ ساكنًا لمن يطلبُ العلمَ بمدينة... وشرطَ الواقفُ أن لَا يخرجَ من محلِّه كاملًا، بل يخرج أربعة كراريسَ إنِ احتيجَ إليه، وأيضًا لَا يُباعُ ولَا يُوهبُ ولَا يبدَّلُ، {فَمَنْ بَدَّلَهُ بَعْدَ مَا سَمِعَهُ فَإِنَّمَا إِثْمُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ}، تحريرًا في خامسَ عشَرَ شعبانَ سنةَ اثنينِ وخمسينَ ومائةٍ وألفٍ.
