May God’s prayers and peace be upon Muhammad, His Prophet, whose verses have illuminated and whose proofs have been made clear... until the time of the two imams... Al-Bukhari and... Muslim... and each one of them marked his book with the Sahih... The purpose is to know the agreement of these two imams in quoting the intended text in the Sahih, or to know who of them produced it and testified to its authentication so that the argument can be established... ... Chapter: Some of the seekers have sought to know the reasons that necessitate the difference between the past Imams... Chapter: It has been Some of the seekers were keen to know the reasons that led to the difference between the past imams... and that is God’s custom in regard to whomever He loves, to grant him acceptance on earth, as stated in the truthful report about the one who was sent with the truth, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. So congratulations to them and to the rest of the imams who transmitted them and to us the rules of this religion and the evidence of the rulings of the Muslims...
